Terry McCauley of KIX-FM Gets Unexpected Birthday Tune
When Clay McCauley, owner and morning show host at KIX-FM radio brought his wife, Terry, into Books&Friends in downtown Wallace this afternoon, no one knew she would have a surprise coming her way. Today is Terry's birthday. Local legend Harvey Knowles, known affectionately as "Happy Harve," called his famous harmonica into active duty when he discovered it was Terry's special day.

Wallace Police Conduct Active Threat Training at Wallace Elementary School
While we all hope it never happens, it's always better to be prepared for any emergency in a public setting. This week, Wallace Police are going through active threat training at Wallace Elementary School. Wallace Police Chief James Crayton spoke with the Wallace Channel about the specialized training.

Wallace Police Dept. Kicks Off Back-To-School Drive

To ensure all area students have what they need for the upcoming school year, the Wallace Police Department has begun it's annual back-to-school drive. All of the school supplies and 100 percent of any monetary donations will go directly to Wallace area schools.

Donations can be made at the Wallace Police Department during office hours. See the list here for school supply donation ideas.



One Eleven Mane Opens on Main Street

The Greater Wallace Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Friday morning to welcome a new business to downtown.



Video Tour of Boney Mill Pond Park

Built in the mid 1700s and used as both a saw mill and a grist mill, the Boney Mill has survived as a well-known landmark in Wallace. Now, the mill and pond have been turned into a beatiful park with incredible natural views, a dock over the pond and a pier to launch a kayak.



Sign of the Times

Thanks to a project between the Rotary Club and the Town of Wallace, drivers along NC Highway 41 near the Tin City area have a very impressive sign welcoming them to town.
